The Master of Emergency Medicine is a broad-based degree that recognises coursework taken previously towards specialist clinical qualifications in Emergency Medicine.

It involves research and preparation of a thesis on any topic from a wide variety of related topics.

Course outline

This Master's by research (thesis) consists of:

  • A research thesis of not more than 50,000 words, plus courses, lectures, seminars and other work and/or studies and investigations culminating in such reports as the supervisor or head of school directs. This degree can also be taken by thesis and coursework.

Admission requirements

Admission to the Master of Emergency Medicine (Thesis) requires:

  • a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery of this University, or equivalent as recognised by the Board
  • completed or continuing Fellowship training in an emergency medicine specialist college recognised by the Board.

All UWA research programs require English Language Competence.
