We have specific interests in clinical research in general practice. We also conduct systematic reviews and health care services research with the aim of producing translational knowledge into primary health care.

Overview

Our current research focuses on clinical research within primary care, health services research and qualitative research in general practice. Our school brings together researchers from a wide range of academic backgrounds including medicine, social sciences, rural health, science, psychology, statistics, computing science, nursing and allied health. The three major areas in General Practice research are: Systematic Reviews (led by Professor Helena Liira), Cancer (led by Professor Jon Emery), and Collaborative Health Analysis and Statistical Modelling (led by Associate Professor Alistair Vickery).

Starting in August 2015, we will launch a workshop series for future researchers in general practice or primary health care.

General Practice currently receives funding from several NHMRC grants in addition to other State, Commonwealth and charitable research funds.
