Jocelyn Avery

Jocelyn Avery is a freelance anthropologist with a Phd from UWA. Her research interest is the physical and mental health of people with an intellectual disability in Australian society, and the ‘othering’ of marginalised social groups.

Her undergraduate majors were (WA) history, anthropology and sociology.

She is a carer and advocate for people with intellectual disabilities, and a member of the Telethon Kids Institute Community Advisory Group.
