The School has a strong evidenced-based approach to research with staff actively involved in a diverse range of research projects.
These include clinical studies and trials, and primary care research in urban and rural settings. The School's multidisciplinary nature facilitates collaborative research within SPARHC and with other schools in the Faculty.
Centres, groups and projects
- The Centre for Aboriginal Medical and Dental Health covers a wide range of areas and settings, including Indigenous health competency in the health professions through to factors influencing health and wellbeing in Indigenous communities.
- Western Australian Centre for Rural Health is a multi-disciplinary centre addressing rural, remote and Indigenous health through education and training programs and applied research on health systems and population health.
- Emergency Medicine: given the very nature of the specialty of Emergency Medicine, a diverse range of research projects are undertaken within the department.
- General Practice focuses on collaborative research in the areas of cancer and chronic disease in primary care.
- The Rural Clinical School is undertaking a comprehensive evaluation of the implementation of the Federal Government’s Rural Health Strategy.
