The Centre for Rural and Remote Oral Health aims to improve oral health outcomes and conducts a wide array of research for people in rural and remote areas of WA.

Projects

A key project currently underway is the oral health of pre-school children in rural and remote Western Australia. The Centre is conducting surveys in several rural locations to assess the oral health status of very young children (between the ages of two and five years) who are especially at risk for dental disease because they usually do not have contact with school dental services.

To date, data have been collected from Carnarvon, Wiluna and Kalgoorlie and Esperance.
