PC4: The Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group

Operations Team

The Primary Care Collaborative Cancer Clinical Trials Group (PC4) is funded by Cancer Australia to support the development of high quality cancer research in primary care.

PC4 membership is free and open to all researchers and health professionals with an interest in cancer research in primary care. We encourage consumers who are interested in assisting our researchers to join our ‘Consumer Link Register’.

Method

Our infrastructure fosters collaboration between researchers, health care practitioners and consumers to:

  • build research capacity and infrastructure through training awards, concept development and other workshops
  • enable the development of pre-trial studies, leading to large-scale, multi-site studies
  • fill the evidence gaps in oncology in primary care
  • improve health outcomes and care for cancer patients.

The current research portfolio includes primary prevention, decision aids in screening and cancer prevention activities, novel diagnostic and screening tools, cancer follow-up in primary care including physiotherapy, nursing and complementary medicine use, and palliative care.

Funding

PC4 is funded by the Australian Government agency Cancer Australia
